If somebody asked me what makes English special, I would name alliteration as the main distinctive feature. It is not simply a stylistic device (you’ve noticed it in the sentence, haven’t you?), there is much more to it. Alliteration is one of the “laws” of the English language. You should definitely master it if you want to sound like a native. Let me provide you with just a couple of examples for you to see the importance of this linguistic phenomenon.

Tongue Twisters:

Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers.
A peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked.
If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers,
Where’s the peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked?

Sally sells sea shells by the sea shore. But if Sally sells sea shells by the sea shore then where are the sea shells Sally sells?
